Lietuvos studentų sąjunga susitiko su jaunaisiais politikais
Lietuvos studentų sąjungos atstovai lapkričio 28 dieną dialogui pakvietė jaunuosius politikus. Jaunimo atstovai Seime neoficialaus susitikimo metu prie arbatos puodelio patvirtino, kad studentų balsas yra girdimas ir aktyviausios jaunimo dalies bus paisoma sprendžiant aukštojo mokslo klausimus. Susitikime dalyvavo Seimo nariai Liutauras Kazlavickas, Domas Petrulis, Juras Požela. Šis susitikimas organizuotas tęsiant kampanijos “A8tuoni” tikslų įgyvendinimą. Kampanija „A8tuoni“ – tai studentų pilietinė iniciatyva, kurios tikslas buvo ne tik paskatinti kuo daugiau studentų balsuoti šiemet vykusiuose Seimo rinkimuose, o taip pat – atkreipti politikų dėmesį į studentų poreikius, problemas ir joms siūlomus sprendimo būdus. Studentams jautriausios problemos ir jų sprendimo būdai buvo pristatyti kaip 8 punktų programa.
Studijų kokybės užtikrinimas – nė iš vietos be studentų
Lapkričio 24 – 25 d. Prienų rajone įvyko Lietuvos studentų sąjungos Tarptautinių ryšių seminaro mokymai. Pirmos dienos tema – „Studentų įtraukimas į studijų kokybės užtikrinimą: tarptautinė patirtis”, antros dienos tema – „Tarptautinis aukštojo mokslo reguliavimas”. Kartu su Studentų sąjungos atstovais seminare dalyvavo Vilniaus technologijų ir dailės kolegijos, Šiaulių universiteto bei Šiaulių valstybinės kolegijos Studentų atstovybių nariai. Pirmą mokymų dieną Europos jaunimo parlamento atstovė Maryia Sliaptsova vedė dalyvių susipažinimo sesiją, o Studentų sąjungos viceprezidentas Maksim Milto kartu su seminaro dalyviais analizavo tarptautinę patirtį, skatinant studentų įsitraukimą į vidinį bei išorinį studijų kokybės užtikrinimą ir Europos studentų sąjungos projekto QUEST tyrimo rezultatus. Pirmos tag2 dienos pabaigoje Norvegijos studentų sąjungos tarptautinių ryšių koordinatorė Erin Nordal Skype sesijos metu pasidalino norvegų patirtimi ir atsakė į dalyvių klausimus. Antrą seminaro dieną prie mokymų prisijungė Studentų sąjungos Akademinių reikalų komiteto nariai ir įvertino pagrindinių Bolonijos procesų dokumentų (ministrų komunikatų bei strategijų) turinį bei įgyvendinimą Lietuvoje. NOM Members adopted Resolution on commodification of the higher education
HELSINKI – Nordic Organisational Meeting (NOM) – a platform for cooperation between National Unions of Students in Nordic and Baltic countries took place on October 26-28, gathering 30 student representatives from the NOM region, the European Students’ Union, Ministry of Education and Culture of Finland and other experts in field of higher education discussed the issue of higher education commodification and its afterwards in the region. During the official NOM meeting a resolution on the matter was adopted, whereas it is been emphasised, introduction of tuition fees for non-EU/EEA students decreases the number of overseas students and increases the homogenisation of the student body. This also is a beginning for the higher education understanding as a commercial good. European Student Convention 24: new approaches to solve youth unemployement
LIMASSOL – European Student Convention 24 under the topic: “The crisis is getting deeper. Is society under threat?” is happening on October 17-21. The topic of the semi-annual traditional meeting of the European Students’ Union is based on the priorities of Cypriot Presidency of the EU Council and Students Advancement of Graduates Employability project of the European Students’ Union. Around 100 student representatives from 47 National Unions of Students in 38 countries together with other higher education experts were discussing and approaching various policies towards the current 22.5% youth unemployment in Europe. A new threat to Erasmus scholarships?
BRUSSELS and VILNIUS – Erasmus students, participating in mobility exchanges in the second semester of the 2012-2013 academic year may do not receive sufficient funding from the national Erasmus administrating agencies. As according to the Lithuanan Education Exchanges Support Foundation the issue will not affect Erasmus students from Lithuania. European Commission Budget DG informed about insufficient contributions of members states to the 2012 budget of the European Union, which makes a direct impact to all expenses of the European Union. In order to ensure the stability of EU budget, including the stability of Erasmus student exchanges financing stability, the Council of the EU together with the European Parliament should revise the budget. Unfortunately this did not happen by far. Austria, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Finland, Netherlands and Sweden dismissed the proposal to increase own contribution to the 2013 budget by 6.8%, which is being explained by ongoing financial issues.
