European Student Convention 24: new approaches to solve youth unemployement

LIMASSOL – European Student Convention 24 under the topic: “The crisis is getting deeper. Is society under threat?” is happening on October 17-21. The topic of the semi-annual traditional meeting of the European Students’ Union is based on the priorities of Cypriot Presidency of the EU Council and Students Advancement of Graduates Employability project of the European Students’ Union.

Around 100 student representatives from 47 National Unions of Students in 38 countries together with other higher education experts were discussing and approaching various policies towards the current 22.5% youth unemployment in Europe. Lithuanian National Union of Students was represented by Preside Dainius Dikšaitis and Vice President for International Representation Maksim Milto.

During the same days the European Students’ Union was celebrating 30th anniversary of the major student interest representation umbrella in Europe. October 19 was the date for Gala Dinner, incuding 60 Alumni of National Unions of Students and entire European Students’ Union, among such representatives from Lithuania, as on behalf of Lithuanian National Union of Students Alumni: Artūras Šaltis, Mindaugas Reinikis and Jonas Okunis.
