ESU Stays for enhancement of the higher education quality assurance

MALTA – This days 150 student representatives from 47 National Unions of Students from 39 countries are participating in the Quest for Quality for Students (QUEST) seminar and the 63rd Board Meeting of the European Students’ Union.

Representatives of the 47 National Unions of Students share own best practice in field of higher education quality assurance as well inclusion of students and all stakeholders into the practice of higher education quality enhancement. Moreover student representatives got prepared to the review of Europe-2020 strategy of the European Commission and European Standards and Guidelines in Quality Assurance.

Lithuanian National Union of Students is represented by Vice President for International Representation Maksim Milto and Vice President for Strategic Management Miglė Liorančaitė.

 “Higher Education Quality Assurance alongside with equal student participation is a rather challenging but an opportunity for Higher Education system in Lithuania to become more attractive and to improve in long-term perspective. Taking into consideration the Bucharest communiqué, we see this as one of top priorities for the entire Europe and therefore we put our best efforts to implement both in Lithuania and the region”, says Milto.

European Students’ Union Board Meeting is the highest decision making body in the umbrella organization for students in Europe. This time new priorities of the European Students’ Union agenda and official position on Social Dimension of Higher Education in Europe.

European Students’ Union is an umbrella for 47 National Unions of Students from 39 countries, whereas the Lithuanian National Union of Students is a full member since 1998. Chair of the European Students’ Union is Karina Ufert, Alumna of the Lithuanian National Union of Students (Vice President for International Affairs in 2008-2009).
