Community members honored at LSS Christmas Evening

The entire community gathered at the National Lithuanian Union of Students (LSS) Christmas Evening on December 12. The evening was dedicated to celebrating the achievements of members and alumni and thanking them for their work. This year, 9 nominations were awarded, the winners of which were chosen by higher education institutions’ student governments. Initiative of the Year – VMU SA’s public statement regarding its disagreement with the public potentially pro-Russian statements of the VMU PMDF Dean. Awarded to the initiative that was most memorable this year for its idea, implementation or impact on the community. Social Academician of the Year – Saulius Paukštė (VILNIUS TECH SR). Awarded because this year it was the strongest in the field of social and academic affairs, most actively acted, raised questions and resolved issues relevant to students. LSS is proud: interview with VILNIUS TECH SR Head of International Student Affairs Saulius Paukštė

The Lithuanian National Union of Students (LSS) is proud of its members and their achievements, so we want to share them and encourage the exchange of good practices within the community. Today, Saulius Paukštė, Head of International Students’ Affairs at VILNIUS TECH Students’ Representation (SR), shares his experience representing international students and his impressions from international student representatives’ meetings. How and why did you decide to focus on representing international students? It would be nice to say that from the very beginning I felt a kind of spark to represent international students. In reality, it was more practical — last spring, our faculty team needed someone prepared to represent international students.
