The National Lithuanian Union of Students is a national, democratic, independent and non-governmental organization representing the interests of Lithuanian students, uniting Student Governments of Lithuanian higher education institutions.
The National Lithuanian Union of Students represents and defends Lithuanian students at the national level. In order to implement this mission, the Union organizes events and campaigns. In this way, it also aims to draw public attention to existing problems, create and improve the education system, and promote partnership between students and the entire academic community.
The organization establishes and strengthens contacts with decision-making and implementing government institutions, Lithuanian and international youth, student, school and other organizations, and educational institutions.
The Union develops and implements projects aimed at improving the academic and social situation of students, organizes training, holds seminars, forums, and provides consultations to members of Student Governments.
The Lithuanian Student Union is an active member of the European Students’ Union (ESU), the Nordiskt Ordförande Møte
(NOM), the Knowledge Economy Forum (ŽEF) and a founding member of the Baltic Student Union Association (BOM). The Union cooperates with the Ministry of Education and Science and Sport, the Department of Youth Affairs under the Ministry of Social Security and Labour, government institutions that shape and implement the country’s education policy, and other public organizations operating in the country.
